The M6 toll motorway was closed just before 09:00 GMT on Sunday but has reopened

A man has been arrested after another man was stabbed in the shoulder on a coach on a motorway.

Police were called at about 08:15 GMT on Sunday to reports of a stabbing on the M6 Toll southbound between junction seven and eight near Cannock.

The man was taken to hospital and is in a stable condition, with injuries not believed to be life threatening.

A 41-year-old man, from Northumberland, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and remains in custody.

The M6 Toll was closed for a short time at about 08:50 GMT but has now reopened.
