A woman has been killed after she was hit by a car in Worcestershire

A pedestrian has been killed and a driver arrested following a collision in Worcestershire.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called to Droitwich Road, near to the Bull Inn in Fernhill Heath, at 17:50 GMT on Sunday.

A 78-year-old woman was found in a "critical condition" and was later confirmed dead at the scene despite receiving advanced life support.

West Mercia Police said a 33-year-old man, who had been driving a Mercedes A Class, was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remained in custody.
