Police were called to reports that three cars were on fire in Nottingham Road on Sunday evening

A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson after three car fires on a road in Nottinghamshire.

Emergency services were called to reports of vehicles on fire in Nottingham Road, Hucknall, at about 20:30 GMT on Sunday.

The road was closed while firefighters attended the scene, but it has since reopened, said Nottinghamshire Police.

A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson and assault of an emergency worker.

Officers are now urging anyone with information to come forward.
