Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward

Two teenage boys have been arrested after a man was "attacked by a group of youths", West Mercia Police has said.

The victim, aged in his 50s, was found injured on Swinesherd Way in Whittington, Worcester at about 16:30 GMT on Thursday and taken to hospital.

Two boys, aged 15 and 18, were detained on suspicion of grievous bodily harm a short while later and remain in police custody.

"We are appealing for witnesses who may have seen a middle-aged man get assaulted by a group of youths on Swinesherd Way," Sgt Julieanna Barker said.

"We know there were several calls made to police and there have been some social media posts relating to this, so we are asking for anyone who saw the incident or may have phone camera or dash cam recordings to come forward."
