A man has been charged after a bulldozer was driven into a village pub during opening hours, destroying the front porch and damaging the outside walls.

Daniel Morgan, 35, from Rhigos, in Rhondda Cynon Taf, faces a number of charges, including burglary, dangerous driving and criminal damage. He was also charged with aggravated vehicle-taking and property damage. He has been remanded until his next court appearance on 5 January.

Police were called just after 20:45 GMT on Thursday, following reports that a JCB had driven over an unoccupied parked car and crashed into the New Inn, in the hamlet of Cefn Rhigos.

Mr Morgan was taken to hospital, but no one else was hurt in the incident.
