Man appears in court charged with rape

A Shropshire man has appeared in court charged with a range of offences including rape and sexual assault.

Henry Stokes, of Poplar Street in Shifnal, was charged with two counts of rape, one count of sexual assault and one count of actual bodily harm, West Mercia Police said.

The 27-year-old is also accused of one count of voyeurism and one count of coercive and controlling behaviour, the force added.

Stokes appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates Court earlier and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court on 16 February.
