Singing Experience
Sings in a choir

As well as being an accomplished singer (and a member of her church choir), she is a true “Hessle-Roader” born and bred. She is a lifelong supporter of Hull FC and has gone home and away through the club’s various ups and downs, cheering her heroes from the terraces.

Sandra has volunteered hours of her free time – kit washing, fundraising and most importantly serving behind the bar!

Since its formation in 1980, Sandra has also volunteered hours of her free time to support Skirlaugh ARLFC including carrying out kit washing duties, fundraising and most importantly serving behind the bar!

In more recent times a close family friend, Lee Newton, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. As a result of this, his family and friends established the ‘L6ve Life’ Foundation to raise funds and awareness to help fight this debilitating disease. This year Hull FC have shown their support for the charity and proudly wear the ‘L6ve Life’ logo as the main sponsor on their away jersey.

Sandra and a group of her close friends raised funds for the foundation by designing a training shirt that displayed sponsors names, with over 600 people donating towards the cause. Rugby League players from around the world including Sam Burgess and Sonny-Bill Williams showed their support for the charity, meeting Lee when he went to Australia.

Sandra has spent her entire life putting the happiness of others before herself and a chance to sing on the hallowed turf of Wembley would be a fitting reward for a life dedicated to the Rugby League community.
