Joan is one of the most selfless, generous, dependable people that you would have the privilege of meeting.

You can always find Joan in her ‘spot’ in the South Stand at least 45 minutes before kick off.

A hometown girl, she has supported the Wire since being a child, initially going to games with ex Warrington Player Mike Peers and his wife Jan. Several years ago she lost her husband and soul mate Kevin to cancer, and initially struggled to move on with her life.

The Wire took on a new role at that point in her life. Alongside her son Dean, she immersed herself in all things to do with the club, she is approachable and off the wall, and has a different perspective on matters relating to life in general, especially the club. Joan travels to virtually all away games, and this includes Magic Weekend, Challenge Cup and Grand Final games, some of these alone.

On home match days, you can always find Joan in her “spot” in the South Stand (Standing) at least 45 minutes before Kick Off, Joan is known to the players, staff and supporters alike, and is a Game Changer Volunteer for the Warrington Wolves Foundation, where she along with her colleagues go out into the community, promoting the Pass it Back Project.

To us she is the archetypal super fan and unsung hero for Warrington Wolves and indeed the sport in general, and my view is that appearing in such a choir would be fitting recognition to such a capable, adaptable and very special lady who constantly uplifts and excites us all with her gung-ho enthusiasm and never say die attitude.
