In the bath when I think I sound brilliant!

I would like to be part of the Rugby League fans choir for a number of reasons. I feel that the Rugby League family is one of the greatest things to belong to; whoever you support, you are always welcomed with open arms.

The Rugby League family is one of the greatest things to belong to.

My partner, Martin, and I started an LGBT Rugby League club in 2013 called MCR Canalsiders. Right from the start, the Rugby League family and even our local Super League club - the Red Devils - have been 100% behind us showing their support for LGBT people not only watching the great sport of Rugby League, but also being able to take part without prejudice and with respect for all.

Throughout the Rugby League family, they have shown tremendous support and friendship to all of our team, truly regardless of gender or sexuality. We have also had the great opportunity of being flag carriers for the England team in the last New Zealand test series, where as proud gay men and women we stood behind our national team and sung our hearts out to God Save The Queen.

Canalsiders have also been supporters for many fundraising events, such as Sephton Trophy and the Summer Bash. Right from the start of our club, we have lived up to the motto “One Club For All”. We are truly an inclusive and supportive club.

The thought of singing Abide With Me with other members of the Rugby League family would leave me in tears of pride and joy!
