Singing Experience
Sing in changing rooms after every win!

I first went to Siddal in 1997 after I qualified as a sports therapist to gain experience before moving on to other things, but nearly 20 years later I am still here and loving every minute.

I have tried to retire twice – each time lasted 2 games before I was back doing what I love.

So why did I stay? Well I don’t think there is a better club! This year we have 420 playing members and it is a club - not just a group of teams under one name. As a volunteer I feel appreciated, I feel I make a difference, everybody is here to pull together for the best of the club and not just for a payday.

I must be doing something right as I have worked under 7 different coaches and kept them all happy!

I have tried to retire twice – each time lasted 2 matches before I was back doing what I love. And I have said that if I am still wanted I will never retire again, so as I have said I’m a therapist here but at an amateur club you cannot have just one hat – so I think my official title is therapist, strapping distributor, kit collector, changing room cleaner, shoulder to cry on… you get the picture!

I would be extremely proud to represent Siddal in the choir, but also every amateur club who enters the Challenge Cup and makes the early rounds meaningful but ultimately can never win it.
