I have been playing grassroots Rugby League for over 15 years with Nottingham Outlaws, from Summer League to Midlands Premier and then to Conference South, winning the Grand Final in 2015. Beating Valley Cougars in Bath was a real highlight in my career, even though I was side-lined with a broken leg – I still got a medal though! It was great to see the hard work of people like the manager Richard Johnson and the head coach George Strachan rewarded – who help the club just for the love of it.
As well as being a player, I am a huge fan of the club.
As well as being a player, I am a huge fan of the club, playing and watching the second team where there was no first team fixture and travelling to away matches in Wales and further afield. It’s good to see the younger players coming up through the ranks and joining in with 1st team training with us.
As the most experienced, most hilarious and best looking member of the team, I am often challenged with bringing the new players on board and making them feel comfortable and welcome at the club - something we have been very proud of for the last couple of decades.
