Super Tuesday results in full: Biden and Sanders out in front

Joe Biden regained his status as a frontrunner on Super Tuesday, winning 10 of the 14 states that voted to pick a Democratic presidential nominee.

Mr Biden, who is popular with African-American voters, was victorious in a line of states across the South - including Texas, which is crucial to the race because of its high number of delegates.

His main rival Bernie Sanders had wins in Colorado, Utah and Vermont, the state he represents as a senator. He is also ahead in California, which has more delegates than any other state.

Billionaire Michael Bloomberg, who spent millions of dollars on advertising, was unable to clinch a single state victory before promptly dropping out of the race and endorsing Mr Biden.

Elizabeth Warren suffered a miserable night after coming third in her home state of Massachusetts. She has now ended her campaign.
