Jersey inshore lifeboat is officially named
BBCAn inshore lifeboat in Jersey has been official named.
RNLI Jersey hosted the ceremony for the Spirit of St Helier at the St Helier Lifeboat Station on Saturday afternoon.
The Atlantic 85-class, which has actually been in service since last November, has replaced the David Page, another Atlantic 85, which served for 15 years.
The event on Albert Quay was attended by senior members of the service and local dignitaries.
Although the vessel was at a function, crews were still "on duty throughout ... ready to respond to any taskings", managers said.
