Watch: Ghislaine Maxwell repeatedly invokes right to silence during deposition

Ghislaine Maxwell, the convicted associate of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, pleaded her Fifth Amendment right to silence after multiple questions from the House Oversight Committee during a virtual hearing on 9 February.

It was expected that Maxwell would remain silent when questioned by lawmakers on her relationship and activities with Epstein, said Republican House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer.

She was asked if she was a close friend of Epstein, if she helped him traffic girls, and if she instructed girls to provide sexual favours - and remained silent through all.
