Can you tell an Asian hornet from a wasp?
Islanders are being encouraged to watch out for Asian hornet queens earlier than normal this year, after an Asian hornet nest was spotted near St Saviour's Reservoir in January.
The States of Guernsey said the first known sighting of an Asian hornet (Vespa velutina) on the island was in March 2017.
It said the Guernsey Asian Hornet Team was trying to keep the population of Asian hornets as low as possible to "protect public health and the island's biodiversity".
