'I think I run for the feeling, the freedom'

Meet Sarah Perry. A record-breaking ultramarathon runner from Cumbria who is aiming to push the limits even further.

In October, the 34-year-old teacher from Cockermouth broke the women's record at the Backyard Ultra Individual World Championships in the United States - where she ran almost 400 miles (644km) in 95 hours.

Then, in December, she was the last woman standing in a challenge that saw 24 entrants attempt to run 56 laps up and down The Wrekin in Shropshire - finishing in a time of 47 hours and one minute.

David Edwards went to meet her to find out what is in store for her in 2026.
