Band play £1 gig and say live music 'shouldn't be a luxury'

A band that sold out a major concert venue offering £1 tickets took to the stage in front of 5,000 people.

Only the Poets, from Reading in Berkshire and Banbury in Oxfordshire, charged exactly what they did for their debut gig seven years ago for Monday night's gig at the O2 Brixton Academy.

The four-piece, who released their debut album And I'd Do It Again on Friday, were supported by two acts picked from 1,000 who entered a competition to perform before them.
