Drunk driver leads to police pursuit around city
Police video has shown the moment a drunk driver led police officers on a high-speed pursuit around Peterborough.
Cieren Brownsword was seen tailgating other drivers on the A15 in Hampton in his black Land Rover Discovery at about 02:30 BST on 21 December.
The 35-year-old failed to stop for police and then led them on a seven-minute pursuit, while driving well above the speed limit. He was arrested on Southwold Drive and found to be nearly twice the drink drive limit, Cambridgeshire Police said.
Brownsword, of Trelowen Way in Peterborough, was sentenced to 12 months in prison, suspended for 18 months, at Cambridge Crown Court on Tuesday, after admitting drink driving, dangerous driving and failing to stop. He was disqualified from driving for three years.
