Goole bicentenary mural unveiled at station

The UK's largest children's station art project has been unveiled at Goole railway station to mark 200 years of the town's history and heritage.

The mural, created by pupils from nine local schools, stretches along platform one and moves from black‑and‑white imagery into vibrant colour.

It features well‑known Goole landmarks – including the town's iconic salt and pepper pot water towers – as well as scenes depicting its wartime past.

The town's mayor officially unveiled the artwork on Monday, 19 January.

Rebekah Watkins, from Dream Heritage CIC, said she hopes they have helped to "create a lasting legacy" for future generations.
