Couple surprised by up-close murmuration

A Devon woman has compared seeing a starling murmuration in her back garden to "a scene from Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds".

Ann Browne filmed the birds at her home in Exeter on Tuesday at about 16:00 GMT.

She said: "I plucked up quite a bit of courage because it was something like out of Alfred Hitchcock ... I just couldn't believe it."

"It was a phenomenal but scary experience," she added.
