Mildred the donkey joins school Christmas nativity
Marwood Infant School's Christmas nativity - a production of The Very Hopeless Camel - included a very special guest this year.
Mildred the donkey joined the Reception pupils in full costume as they sang songs outside Christ Church in Great Ayton, near Middlesbrough.
A brief walk along the High Street, led by Mildred of course, and the group sang another lot of songs on the village's High Green.
"We feel it's really important for children to have first-hand experiences, and I think nothing really beats having a real life donkey," said Emma Anderson, the teacher who masterminded Mildred's starring role.
