Emily's BSL boards help communication in park
A six-year-old Goole girl has been nominated for an award for installing sign language boards in her local park.
Emily hopes the signs will make the town's West Park more welcoming for deaf people.
Her mother, Tanya Andrews, said: "Emily wants to communicate with people and she does, she's very social.
"She'll go up to people, she'll try and make people understand."
Emily's initiative has seen her become a finalist in the BBC Radio Humberside 2025 Make A Difference Awards.
The awards began during the Covid-19 pandemic to connect those in need with those who could help.
The awards ceremony will take place on 17 September in Scunthorpe, where the winners of all eight categories will be announced.
