Vue cinema set to open in Swindon after Empire closure

A cinema is set to open months after the former operator on the site closed its doors for the last time.

The new Vue cinema will be located at Greenbridge Retail Park in Swindon, Wiltshire, after the company acquired the former Empire building.

Empire collapsed into administration in July after customer numbers failed to return to pre-pandemic levels, leading to the loss of 150 jobs.

The new 12-screen Vue cinema will open to the public on 8 December.
