Sheffield: Tramlines Festival announces 2024 headliners

Paolo Nutini, Jamie T and Snow Patrol will be headlining this year's Tramlines Festival in Sheffield.

The event, which will take place at Hillsborough Park from 26 to 28 July, will also feature The Human League.

Nutini will headline the first day of the 40,000-capacity event, with Jamie T playing on Saturday and Snow Patrol bringing the curtain down on Sunday.

Operations Director Timm Cleasby said the line-up was "testament to the reputation of Tramlines".

Other artists booked to perform at the sixteenth edition of the festival include Bombay Bicycle Club, Tom Grennan, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Yard Act, The Charlatans and Holly Humberstone.

More than 50 acts have been announced so far, including Jamaican-born Sheffield-based musician Franz Von, who will headline The Library Stage on Saturday night.

"Having a chance to headline a stage is amazing for me," he told the BBC.

Von, whose music is described as a blend of reggae, hip-hop, roots and rap, said Tramlines has "grown so much from the early day," describing it as "massive" now.

"People in Sheffield should be proud to have such a great festival here bringing in international acts alongside so much local talent," he said

Last year's festival was hit by torrential rain which damaged the park and required months of repair work.

Organisers Tramlines Events Limited (TEL) have since agreed to pay Sheffield City Council an increased fee to stage the next five events at the council-managed park.
