Ladye Bay beach in Clevedon closed after landslide
North Somerset CouncilA beach is closed for the "foreseeable future" after a cliff collapsed.
Ladye Bay beach in Clevedon and the beach paths near the bay have been shut by North Somerset Council.
The area was assessed by a geologist who found the landslide happened after "a considerable amount" of water flowed over a "fault zone" in the winter.
The council said it was monitoring the situation and considering making the closure six months long.
"We're in early discussions with Natural England about the coastal path, to decide what we should do next," councillor Mike Solomon said.
The council told members of the public to not ignore signs and bypass the fences to gain access to the beach or walk along the coast path.
