Castle Donington: Nearly 100 drivers flagged in car cruise crackdown
North West Leicestershire District CouncilNearly 100 drivers had their details recorded during a police crackdown on car cruising in a Leicestershire town over the Easter weekend.
North West Leicestershire Police said it was prompted by ongoing concerns about nuisance behaviour involving cars in Castle Donington and nearby areas.
One vehicle was seized and just under 100 drivers were flagged as being involved in car-cruising activities.
The district council and fire service were also involved in the operation.
A public spaces protection order (PSPO) has been in place in Castle Donington since 2021 as part of efforts to prevent car cruise gatherings.
Officers said registration details of many of those flagged would be passed to North West Leicestershire District Council to allow it to issue penalty notices for breaching the order.
