Murder charge after body found in Mountsorrel flat
GoogleA 41-year-old man has been charged with murder after a body was found at a flat on Friday morning.
The body of Michael McNee, 40, was found in Chestnut Court, Mountsorrel, and a post-mortem examination found he had been assaulted before his death.
Benjamin Bracegirdle, of Pinfold Gate, Loughborough, appeared at Leicester Magistrates' Court and has been remanded into custody.
He is due to appear at Leicester Crown Court on Thursday.
Mr McNee's family said: "Michael was a much loved son, brother, nephew and uncle and we are heartbroken by his death and the horrific circumstances from which he was taken from us."
Leicestershire Police said a 39-year-old man had been released under investigation.
