A 14-year-old boy has denied murdering a teenager who was fatally stabbed in Leeds last month.

Alfie Lewis, 15, was attacked on Church Road, near St Margaret's Primary School, in Horsforth on 7 November and died later in hospital.

At Leeds Crown Court on Friday, the 14-year-old, who cannot be named due to his age, pleaded not guilty to murder.

The boy pleaded guilty to a knife possession charge and was remanded into youth detention accommodation.

The court heard a trial was expected to begin on 22 April and was expected to run for three weeks.
