Search for Grimsby boy seen outside in pyjamas and slippers
Humberside PoliceDetectives are searching for a young boy who was spotted on CCTV wandering the streets of Grimsby late at night wearing his pyjamas and slippers.
The child, believed to be about eight years old, was seen walking alone around Harvey Walk, in the New Waltham area, at 00:15 GMT.
A CCTV image of the boy wearing dark pyjamas and slippers was captured on Thompson Drive.
Police said there was no evidence to suggest he had come to any harm.
Det Insp Kerry Bull, of Humberside Police, said: "I can confirm that we have not received a missing person report, and this investigation is still being treated as a concern for safety.
"Whilst we don't like to speculate, it is possible that the child has left a property to go to a friend's and returned without waking anyone in the house, or has left in their sleep and doesn't remember this."
She urged the child's parents to "make contact with us in order to bring this matter to a conclusion".
The force said it had conducted "extensive searches and inquiries" to find him, after receiving a call from a member of the public, including scanning "bodies of water, woodland and gardens", as well as checking school attendance records.
Earlier, Det Insp Tom Kelly said: "The child was last seen on Harvey Walk, but is believed to have headed towards Peterson Drive and then turned left around midnight this morning."
He asked locals to check their CCTV footage and contact police if they found anything that might help.
