Hundreds of people have braved the cold water in fancy dress to raise money for a lifeboat service.

The annual event at Stokes Bay in Hampshire raises money for the Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service.

About 750 people took part in the event on 1 January raising more than £3,400 for the charity.

Posting on social media organisers thanked the swimmers and said: "We would not be able to continue saving lives without your help and support."
