Fire crews rescue horse trapped in ditch near Hook
HIWFRSFire crews were involved in a three-hour operation to rescue a horse that had become trapped in a muddy ditch.
It is believed Totti, a Holsteiner horse, became spooked by a pheasant, causing him to fall into the ditch at a farm near Hook, Hampshire.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service crews from Basingstoke, Winchester and Overton were called to Newnham Lane at 08:00 GMT on Friday.
A local vet sedated Totti, 24, before a crane was used to lift him out.
The fire service said the horse was "now doing well and is back in his stable".
