Warning for horse and trap rider seen on A127 in Essex

A rider was given a police warning after they took a horse and trap down a busy road in Essex without reflective gear.

Police were called after the horse was spotted on the A127 on Wednesday.

It was not against the law for it to be ridden on the section of road but there was not enough safety gear nor hi-vis clothing used, police said.

The horse and rider were escorted back to their stables by officers from Wickford and Billericay.
