Devon and Cornwall sees record year of road offence video submissions
A record 6,000 motoring offence videos were submitted to Devon and Cornwall Police via Op Snap in 2023.
Vision Zero South West said it was the busiest year since the operation was set up in 2019.
Op Snap allows the public to submit video evidence of driving offences recorded on dashcams or helmet cameras through an online portal.
Officers said action has been taken against almost 10,000 motorists since the project began.
Vision Zero SWAdrian Leisk, head of Road Safety for Devon & Cornwall Police and chair of Vision Zero South West's enforcement group, said: "Op Snap continues to grow in Devon & Cornwall with 2023 being our busiest year to date.
"More people are using dashcams and helmet cameras than ever before - but also more members of the public are now aware of Op Snap and understand that they have the power to do something about poor driving.

Official figures recorded 47 deaths and 741 serious injuries on Devon and Cornwall's Roads in 2022 - the most recent available.
