Cyclist flown to hospital with serious head injury after crash

A cyclist has been airlifted to hospital after sustaining a serious head injury in a crash in Devon, police have said.

Devon and Cornwall Police were called at about 08:30 GMT after a crash involving a van and a female cyclist on Uffculme Road in Willand.

The female cyclist sustained a serious head injury in the crash and was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth by air ambulance.

Police said the road remained closed.
