A 60-year-old man has pleaded guilty to the murder of a man at a hostel in Derby.

Martin McDermott admitted murdering Leslie Salmon, when he appeared in court earlier.

Mr Salmon, aged 44, was found injured in Burdett Lodge, Bass Street, early on 6 August and died later in hospital.

McDermott, of Bass Street, appeared via video link at Nottingham Crown Court, where he is due to be sentenced on 12 February.
