Volunteer call for Wolverhampton literature festival

Volunteers are being sought for the Wolverhampton Literature Festival which will see a host of famous faces in the city.

BBC presenter Louise Minchin, LBC's James O'Brien and the city's own Sathnam Sanghera are on the line-up.

Stewards, runners, technical support and others are needed to stage the event from 2 to 4 February.

Volunteers will get development opportunities and tips and advice on job applications.

Journalist and author Sanghera will be discussing his new book Empireworld on its publication weekend.

Comedian and writer Lou Sanders will tell the stories behind her memoir What's That Lady Doing? and former BBC Breakfast star Minchin is to talk about her book Fearless: Adventures with Extraordinary Women.

Investigative reporter and host of Netflix's The World's Toughest Prisons, Raphael Rowe, will be at Wolverhampton Art Gallery to share his own story of being jailed for a crime he did not commit.

Radio star O'Brien will talk about his book How They Broke Britain, which promises to "explore the shady network of influence".

Wolverhampton Libraries will host several children's events, and there will be a special screening of the National Theatre Production of Othello.
