Sutton Coldfield stabbing: Murder charge over man's death

A man has been charged with murdering a 31-year-old who was stabbed in the chest in Birmingham.

The victim, named as Gary Warner, was taken to Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield in the early hours of Saturday, where he later died.

Kane Stonehouse, 20, of Stone Avenue, Falcon Lodge is also charged with possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

He will appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Mr Warner's family said: "We are devastated at our loss. Gary was a kind, loving brother, son, nephew, uncle and friend.

"He had a zest for life and everyone who knew him loved him."

West Midlands Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen a silver Skoda Yeti in Stone Avenue, Falcon Lodge, between 04:00 and 05:00 GMT to come forward.
