Man arrested after woman held hostage in Birmingham

A man has been arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment and making threats to kill after a woman was held hostage.

Police were called to reports a woman was being held at a property in Tarrant Grove, Birmingham, at about 17:30 BST on Friday.

The road was cordoned off and police negotiators were at the scene until just before 10:30. The woman received a cut to her arm.

A 35-year-old man, from Selly Oak, was also arrested on suspicion of assault.
