Wolverhampton murder inquiry: Body found in West Park
Express and StarThe body of a teenage girl has been found in a park by a member of the public, prompting a murder investigation.
The girl's body was discovered in West Park in Wolverhampton at about 07:00 BST on Thursday. The park has been sealed off.
The teenager, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene, West Midlands Police said.
A post-mortem examination is due to take place.
Det Ch Insp Edward Foster said: "The investigation is at an early stage, but we're really keen to hear from anyone who was in or around the park overnight.
"It's vital that we speak to anyone with information, no matter how small it may be."

The 43-acre park remains cordoned off by police while investigations continue and police divers have been searching a small lake.
Patrols are being stepped up in the area and a fun fair in the park has been closed while police investigate.
Local resident Kash Shenar, 52, said it was a popular park and was particularly busy on Wednesday night due to the Wolves football match.
"It's just horrific," he said.
West Midlands Police said the victim's family are being supported by specialist officers.
