Slough: Life-saving bleed kits put in town's pub and shops
Turtle Engineering LtdSpecialist bleed control kits designed to save stabbing victims have been placed in businesses throughout a town.
The packs in seven locations in Slough contain dressings, scissors, gloves, tourniquets and a chest wound sealant.
The kits are designed to prevent catastrophic blood loss from an injury while waiting for an ambulance.
Alongside the kits, cards with information on how to use them are being handed out in the town.

Laura Mathias, from South Central Ambulance Service, said: "Extreme bleeding can cause death within minutes.
"Having more of these kits available to use whilst the ambulance service is on its way will save the lives of people who suffer severe bleeding whether from an assault or an accident.
"You don't need any specialist skills to use the kits and our emergency call takers can talk you through how to use them correctly."

The current kits can be found in the following locations:
- The Moon and Spoon, 86-88 High Street
- Esso (Londis) Petrol Station, 135 High Street
- Londis, 129 Earls Lane
- Co-op, Twist Way,
- Shamrocks, 12 Parlaunt Road
- Chicken Cottage, 258 Trelawney Avenue
- Manor Stores, 3 Villiers Road
It is hoped more businesses and organisations will come forward to hold further kits in the town.
The kits have been bought by Slough Borough Council's community and detached youth work team.
