A care home rejected by a council can be built after an appeal was successful.

Boutique Care Homes had applied to build the 70-bedroom facility on the site of Lawnfield House, a Victorian villa in Westmorland Road, Maidenhead.

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) rejected its planning application in March over worries about its size and impact on trees, parking and the area, but the Planning Inspectorate gave permission last week.

Inspector Paul Burley said there was no reason to refuse giving it approval.
