Humberside Police says a cordon will be in place at Little Eden Holiday Park near Bridlington while investigations continue

A man has been arrested after two teenagers were found dead at a holiday park in East Yorkshire.

Humberside Police said it was called to Little Eden Holiday Park near Bridlington on Wednesday following concern for safety.

The force said a 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy were found dead inside a rental property. A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter and remains in custody.

Ch Supt Matt Peach said: "Whilst we are in the very early stages and the deaths at this time remain unexplained, we are exploring the possibility that they may be connected to carbon monoxide poisoning, with further inquiries continuing."

Peach added emergency services and partner agencies had attended all other properties on the site to offer "advice, support, guidance and ensure everyone's safety".

He said: "This is incredibly distressing and heartbreaking for the families of the teenagers involved, and they are at the forefront of our minds and actions.

"I would please ask people to refrain from any form of speculation and to respect their privacy."

Peach said residents would continue to see an increased police presence and a cordon was in place while investigations continued.
