Last member of Scouse Dave drugs gang sentenced
Hampshire and IOW ConstabularyThe final member of an organised crime gang who was charged with peddling crack cocaine and heroin has been jailed.
Danny Venning, 39, of Beatrice Avenue, Plymouth, was a member of a Liverpool-based drugs supply network known as Scouse Dave and was jailed for six years and nine months at Portsmouth Crown Court on Friday.
The gang ferried the class A drugs to Gosport, Hampshire, and Plymouth, Devon, and was headed by two brothers jailed earlier this year.
Anthony Siner, 38, admitted four counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and was jailed for 17 years and seven months in January. Brian Siner, 42, admitted to two counts of the same charge and was jailed for 15 years and nine months.
The brothers have been made the subjects of Serious Crime Prevention Orders, which mean their movements and activities will be restricted when they leave prison.
The Siners are restricted from carrying more than £500 in cash on their person and have been banned from entering Fareham, Gosport and Plymouth.
The brothers and their two operational managers – Adam Hughes, 38, from Heathfield, East Sussex and 41-year-old Liverpudlian Gary Cranney – have between them been ordered to pay back almost £4m as part of a Confiscation Order, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said.
The brothers must pay a total of £1.635m, Cranney £1.3m and Hughes £1m.
