Police seize 20kg of cornflakes during drugs raid

Twenty kilos of suspected stolen cornflakes have been seized by police alongside £750,000 worth of drugs.

West Yorkshire Police uncovered the cereal stash while searching properties in Pontefract and Darrington on Monday.

Officers also recovered around £10,000 in cash and a number of Rolex watches valued at up to £120,000.

The force said four men, aged between 23 and 47, had been charged with drug offences following the raids.

All four men, of no fixed abode, appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Wednesday and have been remanded to appear at Leeds Crown Court on 9 April.

Kyle Bates, 34, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine, cannabis and ketamine.

Alan Tonks, 47, has been charged with possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, cannabis and ketamine.

Reece Britnell, 23, has been charged with possession with intent to supply cannabis.

Mark Bates, 38, has been charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine, cannabis and ketamine.

Bates has also been charged with possession of criminal property.

A woman in her 30s, who was also arrested on Monday, has been released on bail.
