Devon & Cornwall Police said a cordon had been put up as a precaution

A cordon was put in place after a suspicious device was found during a house clearance.

Devon and Cornwall Police said they were called at about midday after a device was discovered in a property in Carey Park, Helston, Cornwall.

A cordon was put in place around the property as a precaution and officers were working with an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team, who identified the items as bird scarers.

Among the nearby properties that were evacuated as a precaution was Helston Community College.
