The death of a man who was swept out to sea in Thailand was accidental, a UK coroner has concluded.

Jason Mark Lambert, 37, who lived in Colchester and grew up in Ipswich, was on holiday on the island of Phuket with his mother and sister when a wave swept over him.

He died on 29 November 2025 at 12:30 local time at Patong Hospital in Phuket with the cause of death given as drowning, the inquest at Seax House in Chelmsford heard.

The dead man's family did not attend the hearing.
