A 21-year-old has been charged with murder after a man died at a holiday park in Inverclyde.

Raymond Cosgrove, 33, was pronounced dead after officers were called to an incident in Rothesay Gardens in Wemyss Bay at about 00:05 on Sunday.

Police arrested and charged Sean Ward, 21, in connection with Mr Cosgrove's death.

Mr Ward, of Motherwell in North Lanarkshire, made no plea to the separate charges of murder and a breach of bail conditions during a private hearing at Greenock Sheriff Court.

He has been committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

He will appear in court again within the next eight days.
