City centre road shuts after sinkhole appears

A city centre road has been closed after a sinkhole opened up.

The cavity was spotted in Carrow Hill, Norwich, over the weekend and is the same width as the pavement.

The residential road has been closed to traffic, and a diversion has been put in place.

Norfolk County Council said: "Site investigations are currently ongoing and the closure will stay in place until all necessary repairs have been completed."
