Jury discharged in trial of teacher accused of sex with pupil

The jury in the trial of a PE teacher accused of having sex with a 16-year-old pupil has been discharged.

Bronwen James, 30, of Chippenham, Wiltshire, has been on trial of four charges of sexual activity with a boy at Bitterne Park School in Southampton, Hampshire.

The jury was sent home by the judge earlier during the opening day of the trial. The case has been adjourned until Thursday, when a new jury is set to be sworn in.

James denies the charges.
