Two men charged after Tates garden centre thefts

More than £1880 of goods were allegedly taken from Old Barn Nurseries & Garden Centre

Two men have been charged with shoplifting after thefts from two Tates Garden Centres.

On 13 February, police received a report of about £450 of weedkiller being stolen from Mayberry Garden Centre in Old Shoreham Road, Portslade.

Then on 24 February, another theft was reported from Old Barn garden centre in Worthing Road, Dial Post, with about £1,880 of goods allegedly taken.

A 45-year-old man and a 57-year-old man from Lewisham were arrested on Friday and have since been charged with two counts of shoplifting each.

The two men were remanded in custody to appear before Maidstone Magistrates' Court later.
